The Fire Pastel
At the same time that I was working on The Intern Experience, I decided he wanted to make some art with my friend Stephanie, whose Instagram is @stephaniesart. She already had a few ideas that she got from Pinterest, and one of them was a melted set of pastels on a blank canvas. At the time I had legitimately never seen or heard of anything like this before, and I was incredibly excited to see how it would turn out. She first began by using a lighter after her hairdryer failed to do anything but trip a circuit. When the lighter just ended up burning the oil pastels and not melting them, I took out my blow torch. It was effective at first, but then it proved to be a little too effective for the little white canvas. The flames stuck quickly to the colored pastels, and even though they began to melt like planned, the canvas began to burn!
After all was said and done, the canvas was a scorched mess of colored oil and holes: It was perfect!
